The man dancing in the white outfit at the NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen, a man missing his left leg, he is Koichi Omae. His dance didn’t feel rehearsed. It seemed so much to be alive, to express something deep and powerful and emotional. He no doubt struck a chord in many people, there in the last few hours of the year. Why are we so moved by his dancing?
